The Program in Global Health Studies supports the interdisciplinary Global Health adjunct major and minor, and encourages student involvement in Global Health both in and outside of the classroom.

Our Curricula

We provide a strong foundation from which students learn to think critically about global health challenges and practices. Students simultaneously explore core fields of global health such as infectious disease, bioethics, or mental health.

Study Abroad

Global Health Studies majors and minors are required to study abroad in a program that offers a substantial public health experience. Two credits taken while abroad can count towards the elective requirement for the Global Health Studies Major or Minor.

Student Team Participates in Global Health Case Competition

Junior Courtney Zhu describes her participation, with five other Northwestern undergraduates, in the 2018 Emory International Global Health Case Competition. The case focused on emergency disease containment, using the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar as the subject.
